Jersey Post has unveiled its holiday stamp collection, titled “Jersey’s International Christmas,” in advance of the festive season. Launched on November 11, this collection highlights well-known and customary Christmas culinary items from across the globe, including France’s Buche de Noel and Poland’s Barszcz czerwony. In addition to celebrating worldwide traditions, Jersey Post has also showcased the finest aspects of the island’s own heritage. This encompasses Jersey’s Lé Podîn d’Noué, a traditional steamed Christmas pudding made using a recipe passed down through generations in Jersey. By incorporating breadcrumbs, suet, spices, and dried fruit, this pudding offers a lighter and quicker preparation than the conventional British version. The new series further explores customs from other nations, specifically Romania, Portugal, and South Africa. A representative for Jersey Post stated that the organization wished to “thank the various communities around the island for their assistance.” Follow BBC Jersey on X and Facebook.
