Revised speed limits are scheduled to be implemented across various areas in Jersey starting Monday. These reductions are an element of the States of Jersey’s Island Speed Limit Framework, which the government stated is designed to improve road safety. Among the adjustments, roadways in Bonne Nuit Bay and St Lawrence will see their limits decrease from 40mph to 20mph, while those in St Brelade and La Rue de Sorel will be lowered from 40mph to 30mph. According to the States of Jersey, these modifications demonstrate the island’s dedication to responsible traffic management. The States stated, “Managing the speed of traffic helps other road users feel safer and encouragespeople to walk and cycle. This is especially important for those travelling to and from school.” The aforementioned changes are now in effect.
