Jersey athletes selected to represent their island internationally will be eligible to claim up to £1,000 for travel expenses starting in 2025. This follows the States’ approval on Thursday of a proposal by Deputy Raluka Kovacs to establish a £300,000 fund. Deputy Kovacs had initially advocated for a £500,000 fund but accepted a revised amount proposed by ministers. Deputy Kovacs stated: “We are very quick to celebrate when these hard working individuals bring medals for Jersey but often overlook their sacrifice and the support they need to get there.” She further commented: “Many talented individuals are left feeling that their hard work and sacrifices may be in vain if the financial barriers prevent them from crossing the water to showcase their skills.” Post navigation Arne Slot Views Liverpool’s Top Position as Routine, Citing Experience and Club Culture Jon Brady Reflects on Northampton Town’s Progress Ahead of 200th Match
