Swansea City will encounter a familiar individual upon their arrival at the MKM Stadium for Saturday’s early Championship fixture against Hull City, which is scheduled to commence at 12:30 GMT. Former winger Jason Price, now 47 years old, played for both clubs during his career and will be participating in Hull City’s (the Tigers’) match hospitality for the event. The Aberdare native began his professional journey with Swansea City (the Swans) at the age of 17, signing with them in July 1995. He joined from the amateur club Aberaman, where he had played after being released by Cardiff City. Price made 177 appearances for Swansea City over six years, scoring 20 goals. He secured his place in the club’s history for his contribution to their 1999-2000 old Third Division title-winning campaign under manager John Hollins. Swansea needed only a draw on the final day against Rotherham to clinch the title. Price earned the penalty that Matthew Bound converted, leading to a 1-1 draw. Tragically, that game is also remembered for the death of Swansea fan Terry Coles, who was trampled by a police horse. Price is also held in high regard by Hull City fans, having joined them in July 2003 after stints at Brentford and Tranmere Rovers. He played a crucial role in a double promotion with the Tigers, which saw them advance from the fourth tier to the second tier of English football.
