James Teelan was released by Crusaders in October. Winger James Teelan is scheduled to join Portadown on a free transfer once the January transfer window commences. The 22-year-old, who previously spent time in the Ports academy during his youth, was released by fellow Irish Premiership side Crusaders in October. Teelan, who began his senior career with Dungannon Swifts, was a standout performer for Newry City, making 87 appearances and scoring 27 goals across two seasons at the club. He then moved to the Crues in 2023 but featured in only 24 matches during his 18 months at Seaview. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Carrick Rangers. Portadown manager Niall Currie expressed his satisfaction at the prospect of adding Teelan to his squad next month. Currie informed the club’s website: “He’s explosive and will carry a real threat. We felt we needed to strengthen our wide areas and James can play right across the front line.” Currie further stated: “He comes after not featuring regularly at Crusaders but we’re confident we can get his career going in the right direction again and give him the platform to get back to his very best.” Teelan also conveyed his eagerness to collaborate with Currie, who has guided Portadown to second place in the table in their first season back in the top-flight. Teelan remarked: “I feel as though Niall is the right manager to get the best out of me and I can’t wait to get started and playing in front of the supporters.” Post navigation Manning Calls for Bristol City Players to Elevate Performance Squad Players Utilizing Conference League for Impact
