An organization dedicated to assisting visually impaired individuals on the Isle of Man has announced the closure of its retail outlet, attributing the decision to increasing operational expenses. The VIP Store, which generates funds for the Sight Matters charity, is scheduled to cease operations permanently at its Strand Street location in Douglas on December 21. This charity shop, which has been active for nine years, stopped accepting new donations earlier this week. Cathryn Bradley, chief executive of Sight Matters, stated that the decision to close the store was “very difficult,” but escalating costs had “left us with no other option.” The charity expressed its “deeply grateful” appreciation for the contributions of its volunteers and staff throughout its operational history. Despite the necessity of closing the shop, Ms. Bradley affirmed that Sight Matters’ “commitment to supporting people living with sight loss remains as strong as ever.” The organization also indicated its intention to “continue to explore other opportunities to fundraise and engage with the community.” Peter Marshall, the fundraising and marketing lead, commented that the VIP Store had “helped spread awareness of the challenges faced by those living with sight loss on our island.” Post navigation Leicester Market Traders Express Discontent Over Proposed Smaller, Food-Centric Scheme From Cleaner to Warship Builder: A Career Transition at Rosyth Shipyard
