The company that provides gas services in Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man has announced the selection of its new Chief Executive Officer. Graeme Millar, who previously headed JT and later managed its Internet of Things division following its sale in 2021, has taken charge at IEG immediately. Mr. Millar replaces Jo Cox, who left the organization in September. He expressed his enthusiasm about joining the company at a “pivotal moment” in its history as it transitions towards net zero. “I look forward to working with all our stakeholders to ensure we provide our islands with energy security and resilience that is safe, low carbon and cost effective,” Mr Millar said. Islands Energy Group is composed of three businesses located in Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man—Guernsey Energy, Island Energy, and Isle of Man Energy. It is the exclusive gas provider for domestic, commercial, and industrial clients in the islands. The group also offers domestic appliances for sale, including cookers and washing machines. IEG stated that Mr. Millar served for 11 years as group CEO of JT, overseeing “the rollout of fibre connectivity” and a “commercial co-operation agreement” between JT and Manx Telecom. The company indicated that he would “transition into his new role” over the coming months, providing him time to conclude his current commitments.
