Authorities are conducting an inquiry into the fatality of a woman that occurred at the Lux nightclub, situated in Belfast City Centre, during the early hours of Sunday. Emergency services, including law enforcement, medical personnel, and fire brigades, responded to the establishment around 02:20 GMT following notifications of two women losing consciousness. Upon their arrival, officers confirmed that one of the women, identified as being in her 20s, was deceased. The second woman was transported to a hospital for medical attention, where she is currently receiving care. A spokesperson for Lux issued a statement, saying: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the parents and family during this very difficult time. Our focus is now to help the police with their investigation and our staff wellbeing.” The nightclub announced it would remain shut on Sunday evening. Hospitality Ulster expressed that it was “deeply saddened by the news.” Its chief executive, Colin Neil, stated: “Nobody should ever go on a night out and not return home.” Law enforcement officials have issued an appeal for individuals possessing any relevant information to contact them.
