A Liverpool-based charity, currently subject to an ongoing investigation, has seen the appointment of two interim managers. The Charity Commission initiated a statutory inquiry into the Eldonian Community Trust Ltd due to governance concerns. Established in 1987, the charity operates from the Eldonian Village within the city’s Vauxhall area, with its founding objectives being to “advance education” and create a community centre. On October 24, the commission appointed the two managers, tasking them to “undertake certain duties to the exclusion of individuals who have been acting as trustees.” According to the commission, the newly appointed interim managers are Sarah Tomlinson and Phil Watts, both from Anthony Collins Solicitors, a firm based in Manchester. The commission stated that these two individuals would be responsible for appointing new members to the charity, scheduling an Annual General Meeting (AGM) before the close of January, and identifying potential candidates for trustee elections.
