Inquest to Examine Death of RAF Serviceman at North Yorkshire Base

A full inquest is scheduled to be conducted regarding the death of a Royal Air Force serviceman who was discovered deceased at a base in North Yorkshire. Malik Bunton, 21, who was born in Bury St Edmunds, was reported missing by colleagues at RAF Leeming near Northallerton, and subsequently found dead at the base on 17 July 2023. North Yorkshire Coroner Catherine Cundy informed a pre-inquest review on Wednesday that she would set a date for the inquest once she had received the required evidence from witnesses. She also noted that the inquest would investigate an earlier incident where he entered the River Ouse in the months preceding his death.
