Police have confirmed that a paraglider, who had been reported missing in the Lake District, has been located with injuries. Matthew Thornton, an Oxfordshire resident, had communicated his intention to paraglide “as far as he could back to Grasmere from the Heron Pike, Great Rigg or Fairfield areas,” according to Cumbria Police. Earlier, Mountain Rescue and the police force had launched a search appeal for the 34-year-old. Officers subsequently stated that Mr Thornton was found and transported to a hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
