Residents in Halifax received an earlier warning to remain indoors due to a “chemical incident.” The West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service reported their deployment to Quarry Court just after 11:00 GMT. According to the service, a “gas cloud” had developed as a result of chemical mixing. Individuals residing or working in the vicinity were instructed to keep their doors and windows shut. By 15:30 BST, the fire service confirmed the chemicals had “stopped reacting” and the situation was resolved. In an official statement, the fire service declared: “The chemical has stopped reacting and we have handed the scene back to the responsible persons. People are free to leave their properties. We’d like to thank everyone for their cooperation while this incident was resolved.” Post navigation Northamptonshire Residents Grapple with Widespread Flooding After Storm Bert Peterborough City Council Seeks Public Input on Ash Dieback Management in Bretton Woods
