An individual has been charged with murder in connection with the death of an Elizabeth line worker at a station located in east London. Jorge Ortega, aged 61, was transported to a hospital with severe head injuries after the British Transport Police (BTP) was called to Ilford station at approximately 20:50 GMT on December 4. He passed away in the hospital two days later. Ayodele Jambgadi, of Kingston Road in Ilford, is also facing a charge of affray. The 28-year-old had previously been accused of grievous bodily harm, but the British Transport Police (BTP) indicates that these charges have since been amended. The defendant is scheduled to appear at Inner London Crown Court on January 7.
