An individual has been formally accused of two counts of attempted murder subsequent to an eight-year-old girl and her father sustaining serious injuries in a shooting incident that occurred in west London. Jazz Reid, aged 32 and residing in Kensington, west London, also faces charges for the possession of a firearm and ammunition. According to a court official, he is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on 20 December. Both individuals who were shot were transported to a hospital, having sustained “serious gunshot injuries,” after the shooting targeted a car on Southern Row in Ladbroke Grove at approximately 17:30 GMT on Sunday. The Metropolitan Police reported that the girl’s two-year-old sibling and her 32-year-old mother were also present in the vehicle but emerged without injury. Scotland Yard has indicated that the 34-year-old man’s injuries are potentially life-changing, whereas his daughter’s condition is “not life-changing” subsequent to surgery performed on Monday. Both individuals continue to receive hospital care. Law enforcement officers had previously expressed gratitude to members of the public who assisted the pair, but they continue to appeal for witnesses to provide information. Separately, on Monday, a 22-year-old man apprehended on suspicion of attempted murder was released on bail until a date in early February, as further inquiries are conducted.
