An individual has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder subsequent to a woman being struck by a vehicle within a pub’s car park. Law enforcement officers responded to numerous reports of a vehicle being operated in a manner targeting individuals in the car park of The Cock Beck pub, situated on Pendas Way, Crossgates, Leeds, shortly before midnight on Friday. A woman, aged in her 50s, was transported to a hospital, having sustained injuries characterized as significant yet not life-threatening. No other individuals sustained injuries during the occurrence. Approximately 20 minutes later, a 26-year-old driver of a Toyota RAV4 was involved in a subsequent collision, leading to his arrest on suspicion of attempted murder, driving whilst disqualified, and possession of class B drugs. West Yorkshire Police stated that officers were dispatched to the second collision at 00:17 GMT, occurring at the intersection of Selby Road and York Road, Leeds, and involving a RAV4 and a Toyota Prius. Authorities determined that the RAV4 was the identical vehicle reported to have been implicated in the incident at the Cock Beck. The driver sustained serious injuries and was conveyed to hospital; however, his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening. According to police, the occupants of the Prius were transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Detective Inspector Daniel Ridgway commented: “The victim has been seriously injured in what appears to be the deliberate use of a vehicle as a weapon and we have extensive enquiries ongoing to establish the circumstances of what has taken place.” He added: “We have already spoken to a number of witnesses at the scenes of both the initial incident on Pendas Way and the subsequent collision at the junction of Selby Road and York Road, but I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to us to come forward.” He requested that individuals in the vicinity review their CCTV or dashcam footage for any material pertinent to the investigation.
