Ian Baraclough secured six victories in 28 matches during his tenure as Northern Ireland manager. The former Northern Ireland manager has now revealed he has commenced a new role as director of football for National League club Fylde. Baraclough managed Northern Ireland for two years but was dismissed by the Irish FA in October 2022, having won only six of his 28 games in charge. He also recently served as assistant manager for Cheltenham Town, departing at the end of last season. On social media, Baraclough wrote: “I’m happy to share that I have started a new position as director of football at AFC Fylde.” He further stated: “Joined late in November, plenty to do, but looking forward to working hard with the owner, staff and players to have a positive second half of the season.” Fylde, currently ranked 18th in the National League, named former England and Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips as their new head coach in October.
