Residents residing in Hull’s Bricknell ward are poised to experience a more orderly and cleaner neighborhood. Windsor Road, Murrayfield Road, Southfield Road, and Huntley Drive will all receive visits from Hull City Council teams as part of its Love Your Neighbourhood project. Over a two-week period, commencing on Monday and concluding on 8 November, these teams will address weeds and overgrown hedges, conduct general maintenance, and clean streets and gullies. Councillor Charles Quinn, the portfolio holder for environment, indicated that these specific streets had been “highlighted as areas that would benefit from our extra resources.” The council is also encouraging residents to participate by assisting with litter-picking and graffiti removal. Mr Quinn stated: “By getting involved with the tidy-up, residents can help make a visible difference, connect with neighbours, and make an impactful change in the place they live.” Areas across Hull that have previously benefited from this project include Kingswood, Ings, and the Avenues. The project was initiated in 2023 as a pilot program, covering more than 260 streets, before its expansion in March of the subsequent year. The council plans to announce the next area to benefit from the scheme by the end of November.
