Hull is making grants of up to £7,500 available to establish additional warm spaces. Hull City Council stated that these Affordable Warmth grants are allocated to community organizations and are also intended to help city residents “cope with the cost of living”. A key objective is for these organizations to provide warm spaces during evenings, weekends, and other non-standard hours. The Department of Work and Pensions, alongside a local heating company, is financing this initiative. Jackie Dad, the deputy leader of the council, commented: “We realise it will be another tough winter for some people, and we want to do what we can to make things a bit easier. “There are a good number of organisations that are already doing great work that could benefit from this money.” Post navigation Unison Suspends School Strikes Following Commitments from Scottish Government and Cosla Birmingham Refuse Workers Authorize Strike Action Amid Job Downgrade Dispute
