Hull is set to host the inaugural event of its month-long series of Christmas market activities this weekend. The Hull Christmas Festival, situated in Zebedees Yard, will feature a traditional Christmas market, along with food and drink vendors and various entertainment options. The city council announced that street performers and complimentary face painting would also be available all day. This event, showcasing the Boogie Bugle Babes, is scheduled for Saturday from 10:00 GMT to 18:00. Councillor Rob Pritchard, Hull City Council’s portfolio holder for culture and leisure, commented: “Now the festive season has officially begun following the Christmas lights switch-on, this festival is another fantastic reason to visit the city centre. “We have a fantastic selection of Christmas markets taking place every weekend through December,” he added. Themed markets are planned to operate in Trinity Square each Saturday until 21 December.
