Hull City Council’s planning committee has unanimously approved the construction of a new drive-thru McDonald’s restaurant. This fast-food establishment is slated for development on Oslo Road in Sutton Fields, taking over the site currently occupied by a bingo hall. These proposals had previously encountered opposition, with individuals who play bingo expressing their concerns. Lichfields, the agent representing McDonald’s, stated that the forthcoming restaurant is anticipated to generate 100 new employment opportunities. According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the new location will feature 25 parking spaces, with vehicle access provided via a newly constructed junction on Oslo Road. The submitted plans further specify the inclusion of two accessible parking bays and two spaces equipped for electrical vehicle charging. In addition to the parking facilities situated directly on the premises, McDonald’s has reached an agreement with the proprietor of the land located to the north-west of the site. This arrangement will furnish an additional 14 parking spaces, bringing the overall count to 39. A representative from Lichfields informed the committee, stating: “Since 2022 and prior to McDonald’s’ acquisition of the site, Buzz Bingo has occupied the building on a short-term lease that is due to expire next year.” They further added, “McDonald’s has kept Buzz Bingo informed in relation to its plans for the site whilst they have been looking for their own new premises.” Post navigation Watchdog Warns of “Uncertain” Future for Ferguson Shipyard Operators of Britain’s Southernmost Cafe Depart After Three Decades
