Hull City’s manager, Ruben Selles, conceded he was “hard” on his squad at half-time on Saturday, a match in which the Tigers secured a 2-1 victory over Swansea City. The decisive goal by Mason Burstow, scored with 10 minutes left in the game, marked Hull’s first win in 13 matches and elevated Selles’ recently formed team from the relegation zone. Speaking to BBC Radio Humberside before Hull’s upcoming Boxing Day match against Preston North End, Selles stated: “I think I was pretty hard on them, but we are learning to cope with each other and the way we navigate through situations.” He further added: “But they know now that there are some non-negotiables that we need to do and we need to do no matter what is the score, we need to be ourselves – that is the most important thing for me.” Selles, aged 41, additionally indicated that the Tigers are considering signing a new midfielder in January. This comes after Kasey Palmer sustained an injury and limped off during Hull’s defeat at Coventry on 14 December, an injury that appears set to keep him out for the foreseeable future. Selles elaborated, stating: “When we know what we are looking for, if it is going to be more than six weeks, I think that can be something to consider in the market, yes.” Post navigation Murphy Commends Cherries’ Bold Playing Style Xiao Guodong Defeats Defending Champion Allen to Reach Final
