The leader and chief executive of Hull City Council face a difficult decision as they prepare to judge the winner of this year’s school Christmas card competition. The local authority has released some of the shortlisted entries from the primary school competition, which invited participation from every school in Hull. The winning designs will be transformed into Hull City Council’s official digital Christmas card for 2024, intended for distribution to all employees, partners, and stakeholders both within the city and beyond. Councillor Mike Ross, the authority’s leader, commented: “We’re looking for entries that celebrate how Christmas brings people together, with a Hull twist!” Working with chief executive Matt Jukes, Councillor Ross will select one winner and one runner-up from both the primary and secondary age categories. Gift cards will be provided as prizes for the winners and runners-up, with the announcement of the results expected before Christmas.
