Hull City Council is encouraging schoolchildren to unleash their creativity by designing its official Christmas e-card. The council has extended an invitation to all schools within the city, requesting students to develop designs centered on the theme of Hull during the Christmas season. According to the council, the victorious designs from both the primary and secondary age groups will be featured on the e-card. This card is intended for distribution to all employees, partners, and stakeholders both within and outside the city. Mike Ross, the council leader, expressed a particular interest in submissions that highlight how Christmas unites people “with a Hull twist”. Ross, alongside Matt Jukes, the council’s chief executive, will compile a shortlist. Subsequently, they will choose a winner and a runner-up for each category, with gift cards serving as the awards. Ross further stated, “The competition is open to secondary school pupils this year for the first time, so I’m looking forward to seeing how children of all ages use their creative talents and enjoy some festive fun,”. Entries must be submitted by noon on Friday 29 November, and the judging process is scheduled for the subsequent week.
