The Hull City Council has announced plans to allocate millions of pounds towards enhancing a specific district within Hull. The council specified that £4m will be directed towards streets located between Newland Avenue and Beverley Road. According to the council, the scope of work will encompass the installation of new front gardens, exterior renovations for properties, and the implementation of measures designed to prevent surface water flooding. Councillor Paul Drake-Davis, who holds the portfolio for regeneration and housing, stated, “Through the Priority Streets programme the council can bring huge improvements to these neighbourhoods and help deliver the positive changes that residents want to see.” The council identified De Grey Street, Grafton Street, Lambert Street, and Princes Road as the streets slated for inclusion in the initiative. The authority indicated that work is projected to commence on De Grey Street “towards the end of 2025,” with the program extending to the remaining designated streets over the subsequent three-year period. Drake-Davis further remarked: “This type of intervention is an all-round winner, improving the aesthetics and fabric of our neighbourhoods. In those parts of the city which have already benefited from the Priority Streets programme, we’re seeing residents having a greater pride in the area and a growing sense of community. Furthermore, with a better look and feel locally, we are seeing an increase in private investment.” Post navigation Pensioner Offered £22,000 for RAAC Flat Valued at £60,000 Ahead of Demolition Waterbeach Railway Station Relocation Now Expected by 2027
