Multiple roads in Hull’s city centre will be closed this Sunday as the city commemorates its war dead. Ferensway is among the streets that will be inaccessible from 06:00 until 13:00 GMT. A parade is scheduled to depart from Queen Victoria Square at 10:25, proceeding to the war memorial. A service will begin at 10:55, with a two-minute silence to be observed at 11:00, according to the council. Lord Mayor and Admiral of the Humber, Mark Collinson, stated: “This is always the best attended of the civic events – and for me, it is the most important. Much of what today we take for granted was bought at a bitter cost by the sacrifices of previous generations. We do not forget.” Full information regarding the closures can be accessed here.
