A residential property in Tiverton has sustained extensive damage following a fire. The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFRS) reported that three crews were dispatched to the location at 22:24 GMT on Sunday, prompted by reports of smoke emerging from the rear of the building. Firefighters from Bampton and Tiverton successfully brought the blaze under control using two hose reel jets. Upon entering the premises with breathing apparatus, they confirmed that all individuals were accounted for. The DSFRS has initiated an investigation into the incident, which it stated caused “50% damage and 100% smoke damage to the property”.
