A Grade II listed former farmhouse sustained substantial damage due to a fire, which is currently under police investigation. The blaze commenced around 16:00 GMT on Monday within the unoccupied structure situated near Fusiliers Way in Warwick. The district council expressed its profound sorrow regarding the incident. It was stated that the fire service would maintain surveillance of the building, and round-the-clock security measures would persist. Additionally, council officers would work to secure the remaining parts of the structure and avert any subsequent harm. According to a spokesperson for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, they received notification of a house fire at 14:57 GMT on Monday and dispatched four appliances. The service’s statement indicated: “50% of the building was affected by fire and the whole property was smoke-logged. Due to smoke in the area, local residents were advised to close their windows and doors.
