England and Saracens wing Jess Breach has been ruled out of play until February due to a hip injury. This comes as England maintains a record of 20 consecutive victories since their loss to New Zealand in the 2022 Rugby World Cup final. The 27-year-old, a consistent presence in coach John Mitchell’s back three, earned her 43rd cap in October when England secured the WXV title by defeating Canada. Breach commented to TNT Sports in October, stating, “It is not brilliant.” She added, “I spoke to a consultant and a specialist and I am probably not going to be playing for a little while, maybe aim for the Six Nations.” England’s Six Nations campaign is scheduled to commence on 23 March against Italy in York, preceding the Red Roses’ home World Cup, which is set to begin in August. Coach Mitchell is also currently without Loughborough Lightning wing Bo Westcombe-Evans, who debuted for England in September and has been sidelined for the remainder of the Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) season due to a significant knee injury. Saracens, Breach’s club, which reached the semi-finals last season, currently holds fifth place in the PWR table, having achieved four wins from six matches.
