Goalkeeper Jordan Smith stated that there was “no better way” for Hibernian to secure a much-needed victory against Motherwell. Under considerable pressure, head coach David Gray’s Hibs side achieved a comfortable 3-0 win, moving them away from the bottom of the table. Smith, an experienced keeper, delivered a confident performance at Fir Park, following an error in Tuesday’s chaotic 3-3 draw with Aberdeen. “I don’t think it could have gone any better,” Smith told BBC Scotland. He added, “There was possibly no better way to do it. I had very little to do today and that’s credit to [the defence].” Acknowledging recent difficulties, he continued, “It’s been difficult and that goes without saying. It’s not like I have nailed down the spot after one win so I’m not getting carried away.” Smith outlined his future objectives: “What I have to do is do well day in, day out and then turn out performances like that, make sure we keep clean sheets, and start to climb up the board.”
