Hibernian Football Club has announced the departure of its director of football operations, which occurred after an inquiry into claims of inappropriate conduct. Derek White submitted his resignation from his position at the Scottish Premiership club last month. The allegations pertain to conduct involving a young male player who is over 18 years old. The club notified the Scottish FA, Police Scotland, and Disclosure Scotland, stating their assurance that no potential harm involved minors. A spokesperson for Hibernian FC issued a statement: “The club can confirm that Derek White resigned from his role at Hibernian FC, whilst an internal investigation into his conduct was ongoing. Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, the details of it will remain confidential. The club informed the relevant authorities and organisations following our strict safeguarding procedures.” Efforts were made to reach Derek White for a statement.
