Neil Critchley, the manager of Hearts, highlighted the “outstanding” contribution of Cammy Devlin following the team’s 2-1 victory against St Johnstone on Sunday. The 26-year-old, who had only been in the starting eleven for three of Critchley’s initial six games at the helm, has since become a regular fixture in the starting line-up for the last nine consecutive matches across all competitions. Devlin has also gained the admiration of the club’s fanbase, receiving applause as he departed the Tynecastle pitch on Sunday. Head coach Critchley expressed his strong approval, stating, “He’s been terrific,” and further elaborated on Devlin’s performance: “Absolutely outstanding. He covers every blade of grass. The amount of tackles and regains and interceptions he makes is brilliant.” Critchley continued to praise the player’s attributes, adding, “He’s an infectious character. He’s so positive. He plays on the front foot. He’s a real competitor. I love his attitude and I love the way he plays the game. I’m delighted for him.”
