Derby’s Markeaton Park will host the Derby Summer Sessions festival, scheduled from 5 to 13 July, with Rag’n’Bone Man and UB40 featuring Ali Campbell confirmed as headlining acts. They join Blossoms and Simple Minds, who were previously announced for the event’s line-up. Rag’n’Bone Man is scheduled to perform on 6 July, while UB40 featuring Ali Campbell will conclude the festival on 13 July. This year marked the inaugural occurrence of the event in Derby, following its expansion to encompass various locations nationwide. Rag’n’Bone Man, known for popular songs like Human and Giant, is set to perform after Elles Bailey’s act. The Stockport-based band Blossoms, alongside The Coral, are slated to perform on 5 July. Simple Minds will headline on 8 July. UB40 featuring Ali Campbell was established subsequent to the singer’s departure from the original UB40 line-up in 2008, a decision attributed to management issues. Pato Banton and Bitty McLean, both recognized for significant hits in the 1990s, are also scheduled to perform on the same day as UB40 featuring Ali Campbell. According to organisers, further acts are expected to be announced shortly.
