The family of Harshita Brella, whose remains were discovered in the boot of a vehicle, has affirmed that she will never be forgotten. Ms Brella, 24, from Corby, Northamptonshire, was found deceased inside a silver Vauxhall Corsa in Ilford, east London, on November 14. Ms Brella’s husband, Pankaj Lamba, 23, of Sturton Walk, Corby, is considered a primary suspect by law enforcement and is believed to have departed the country. Her family issued a statement, saying: “Harshita, you left this world but you are still with us in our hearts and will always be there. We will never forget you till our last breath. Always stay with us.” They further added, “We miss you in every moment of our life.” The family had previously discussed their grief with the BBC following Ms Brella’s demise. Her father, Satbir Brella, stated: “I want my son-in-law to be brought to justice and I want my daughter’s body brought home.” Her sister described herself and Ms Brella as “inseparable,” remarking: “She was a part of me and I was a part of her,” and “I now feel like I can’t do anything in life without her.” In September, Ms Brella was made the subject of a domestic violence protection order (DVPO) at Northampton Magistrates’ Court. On November 13, Northamptonshire Police officers visited Ms Brella’s residence on Skegness Walk, Corby, due to concerns for her welfare. When officers were unable to locate her, a missing person investigation was initiated, which subsequently led to the discovery of her body in the boot of a car on Brisbane Road, Ilford. A post-mortem examination concluded that she died of strangulation. Earlier this week, police released images of Mr Lamba in the Ilford area and appealed for information from anyone who may have interacted with him. His current whereabouts remain unknown. On Thursday, detectives investigating Ms Brella’s death released a CCTV image showing her walking with Mr Lamba on the night they suspect she was killed. The photograph depicts the pair walking together near Corby’s boating lake on November 10. Detective Chief Inspector Johnny Campbell, from the East Midlands Major Crime Unit, confirmed that searches are being conducted in the vicinity.
