A family in Craven Arms, Shropshire, consisting of Kerry Morgan and her partner Anthony Jackson, is collecting funds for charity through a Halloween display following the passing of a close friend. They described John “Woody” Woodfield as “the kindest of men with the biggest of hearts”. The couple expressed their hope that the donations gathered for Bowel Cancer UK could “help eradicate or help with this horrible disease”. Mr. Jackson stated that they have been setting up displays for several years, but chose to dedicate their considerable effort to a charitable cause. He began the tradition to entertain children and indulge the “big kid” within himself, yet noted that people consistently inquired, “Where’s the collection box?” The family previously collected funds for a dementia charity last year. This year, their aim is to raise money in remembrance of their friend, who died from bowel cancer. The Halloween setup features various elements, including lights, water displays, a smoke machine, and models of skeletons, spiders, and other eerie creatures. Mr. Jackson reported receiving “nothing but positivity” from neighbors and is considering a Ghostbusters-themed display for the upcoming Halloween.
