Guernsey Urges Voter Registration for Upcoming 2025 General Election

The States of Guernsey has encouraged island residents to register for the island’s electoral roll in preparation for the general election scheduled for 2025. The election is set for 18 June, and those listed on the register will be eligible to cast votes for as many as 38 candidates. According to a spokesperson for the States, the registration deadline is 30 April, and the procedure requires under five minutes to complete. They also noted that registration forms will be distributed to every household in the coming days, though online registration is being promoted. Colette Falla, the registrar general of electors, stated: “We will be trying to get as many islanders registered as possible in the coming months to ensure we get a good turnout for the election. “Everyone in our island has a voice and voting is one of the most powerful ways to have your say about how the island is run.”
