Guernsey FC midfielder Matt Loaring stated it felt like ‘Groundhog Day’ after his team conceded a goal in stoppage time, resulting in a 3-3 draw against Metropolitan Police. During the match, Ross Allen, the club’s record scorer, registered his 299th goal. Metropolitan Police’s Archie Lowery opened the scoring before Owen Wallbridge’s 22nd-minute goal equalized for Guernsey FC. The Green Lions then took a 3-1 lead with Ross Allen’s 41st-minute penalty and a goal from Sam Murray three minutes after the break. However, Mason Galloway converted a penalty soon after to make it 3-2. Kynan Kirlew-Wright then blasted in a half-cleared corner from the edge of the box in the fourth minute of stoppage time, ensuring the points were shared in a 3-3 draw. This late equalizer prevented Guernsey from securing their second win of the season. The result leaves them second-from-bottom in the Isthmian League South Central, having accumulated six points from 12 games. Loaring told BBC Radio Guernsey: “It feels like Groundhog Day for us at the moment. It’s the same thing every week, we seem to be playing really well and not quite getting what we deserve. This is a another disappointing one for us today playing against a team that, the way the game went, we feel we should have won the game quite comfortably. Somehow we’re finding a way of not getting the points at the moment, so it is frustrating.” Post navigation DRS Absence Casts Shadow Over Women’s Test; ‘Right Decision, Wrong Process’ Cited Match Preview: Leeds United vs. Luton Town Statistics
