International development organizations are set to present their activities to consumers during a unique event held in Guernsey. The Guernsey Overseas Aid & Development Commission (GOADC) will organize an assembly of international development charities located in Guernsey. This event will take place on Thursday, coinciding with late-night shopping hours in St Peter Port. A total of seven charitable organizations, among them Christian Aid Guernsey, Eleanor Foundation, and Fairtrade Guernsey, will be situated on the upper level of the Health Connections Shop in Market Square. The event is scheduled from 17:00 to 20:00 GMT. Additionally, Fairtrade Guernsey intends to offer complimentary tea and coffee to all attendees. Deputy Chris Blin, president of GOADC, stated: “It amazes me how many international development charities are based in Guernsey considering the size of our population, as well as the life-changing work they undertake all around the world.” These organizations are engaged in delivering food and water, sanitation and hygiene services, healthcare, and education. Blin further remarked: “It is an opportunity to celebrate these charities and for the public, in one location, to learn more about what they do and possibly how they can help.” For updates, follow BBC Guernsey on X and Facebook.
