The health service is requesting the return of medical equipment, such as crutches, shower stools, and commodes, which were issued to patients but not given back. The Government of Jersey announced that this two-week “amnesty” period will take place from 2 to 13 December. Members of the public are requested to bring items “in good condition” to Health and Community Services. Returns should be made at the main reception of the Enid Quenault Health and Wellbeing Centre, Monday through Friday, between 10:00 and 15:00 GMT. Individuals possessing large pieces of equipment or multiple items for return should contact the occupational therapy team to schedule a collection. The government indicated that these items would be assessed and “valeted” for potential re-use. Furthermore, the government stated that any items exhibiting rust or wear should be disposed of in the designated area at La Collette.
