Students at a Kent school recently hosted a notable visitor in preparation for Children in Need. Steel, a participant from the television series Gladiators, made an appearance at Borden Church of England Primary, situated near Sittingbourne, as part of a national tour. The Gladiator, known by his real name Zack George, conducted a movement masterclass during an assembly and advised the children to “be confident, eat healthily and regularly exercise”. Steel, who is touring the country accompanied by Pudsey Bear, stated, “we’re giving back to schools by giving a motivational talk about how to become a Gladiator”. A new season of Gladiators has already completed filming and is scheduled to return to BBC 1 on Saturday evenings in the new year. Steel recounted watching the original programme in the 1990s during his childhood, which inspired him to embark on his personal fitness journey. He shared: “When I was a kid I didn’t like my size, didn’t eat healthily at all and had low confidence, low self-esteem. I want to prove to all the kids in the UK that anything is possible as long as you dedicate your time towards it and work hard.” David Whitehead, CEO of Our Community Multi Academy Trust, commented that both children and staff “had a day that they will remember for the rest of their lives”. Pupil Ivy expressed her enjoyment of the special day and her anticipation for the school’s Children in Need no school uniform event scheduled for Friday. She remarked: “It’s good that we’re raising money for children who may not have what we have.” Her friend Mila exclaimed: “It’s the best day in the world ever.” Post navigation High School to Implement Mobile Phone Storage Policy for Pupils Gordonstoun terminates agreement with company linked to alleged Chinese spy
