Britain’s Georgia Taylor-Brown secured her third Supertri League title, following a fourth-place result in the season’s final event held in Saudi Arabia. Earlier this summer, Taylor-Brown placed sixth in the individual triathlon at the Paris Olympics. The 30-year-old Taylor-Brown had previously triumphed in three consecutive Supertri League competitions held in Chicago, London, and Toulouse. To clinch the overall title, she required a top-four placement in Neom, thereby adding this championship to her previous wins in 2021 and 2022. Taylor-Brown commented on her performance, stating, “I did it the hard way. I was at the back for the whole race and it’s not the best day for me.” She further remarked, “It’s weird winning the title and not being on the podium for the individual race, but I got the title and that is all I came for today.” Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand, who was victorious at the World Triathlon Championships last month, secured the gold medal in 53 minutes 25 seconds and concluded the series in third place overall. Jeanne Lehair of Luxembourg had the potential to seize the overall title from Taylor-Brown if she had won the Neom event, but she ultimately placed second with a time of 53:33. Taylor-Brown also expressed, “I am really so proud of this win,” adding, “especially after the hard year after the Olympics. It is nice to know that I can still be up there and do it.” Turning to the men’s competition, British Olympic champion Alex Yee secured the gold medal with a time of 48:25, finishing ahead of Hayden Wilde. However, it was the New Zealand triathlete, Wilde, who ultimately claimed the overall series title. Yee commented, “I came in here with no expectation and just wanted to have some fun.” He further elaborated, “I probably let the emotions of winning the Olympics take its toll in the middle of the year. But I have overcome that little blip and am absolutely loving it back racing.” Post navigation Lewis Hamilton Reflects on High-Note Departure from Mercedes Football Association’s Appeal Against Swindon Town Rule Violations Rejected
