A charity has received thousands of pounds in lottery grant funding, aimed at increasing awareness of heritage sites. The Devonshire Association announced its receipt of a £39,936 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, designated to facilitate public engagement with UNESCO projects and sites. The association stated that these funds would be utilized to promote the Dorset and East Devon Jurassic Coast, the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape Heritage Site, the North Devon Biosphere Reserve, Exeter City of Literature, the Exeter Book at Exeter Cathedral, and the English Riviera Global Geopark. The charity further indicated that free talks and various other events are scheduled to take place at these locations. Simon Timms, who serves as president of The Devonshire Association, expressed the charity’s delight at securing the funding. “Thanks to money raised by National Lottery players, 2025 is set to be a very special year for people across Devon to discover more about our county’s world-class heritage,” he added.
