Fourfields Community Primary School in Yaxley, Peterborough, is scheduled to resume classes after a burst water main led to flooding. The educational institution was closed on Monday and Tuesday but is slated to welcome students back on Wednesday, December 3. The school’s administration described the carpeting as “sodden” and indicated that the flooring was “badly affected by the flooding and very wet and therefore unsafe.” Headteacher Sue Blyth confirmed that students received home learning resources while the facility remained inaccessible. The primary school, situated on Bentley Avenue, reported ongoing clean-up operations and extended appreciation to the community for its assistance. A comparable incident affected the school last year, resulting in “nightmare” flooding and the closure of three primary schools within Yaxley. Ms. Blyth commented: “The school has been closed for two days after a burst water pipe caused flooding at the weekend. During this time children have been provided with home learning materials.” She further stated: “Repairs have been made, the school has dried out and I am pleased to confirm we will be open as normal on 3 December.” Ms. Blyth concluded: “I would like to thank our whole school community and the local authority for their support.” Post navigation Zenith Multi Academy Trust Appointed to Manage New Special Educational Needs School Award-Winning School Cat Cilla Passes Away
