Law enforcement officials have recovered four puppies that were stolen on Sunday evening. The seven-week-old cocker spaniels were removed from a property in Kelloe during a burglary, an incident that left their mother, Freckles, distressed, according to Durham Police. Authorities have since located four of the puppies, which are currently being cared for at Bishop Auckland police station. One puppy is still unaccounted for. A man and a woman were apprehended in connection with the break-in and are currently being held in custody. The force indicated that the puppies had recently transitioned from nursing their mother, who was present at the residence when the burglary occurred. A Durham Police spokesperson announced, “We have some furry good news.” “We are delighted to share that four of the puppies have been found and are now resting up at Bishop Auckland police station.” “We are still looking for one more puppy which we believe may have been sold.” Individuals possessing details regarding the missing puppy are urged to contact the police.
