An operation off the Kent coast has led to the apprehension of four men after a “significant” drug shipment was confiscated from a fishing vessel. Border Force officials reported that they intercepted the maritime craft at sea on Sunday morning, where they discovered 400kg of cocaine. The three individuals aboard the boat, aged 64, 45, and 25, were taken into custody on suspicion of importing class A drugs and transported to police detention for questioning by National Crime Agency (NCA) investigators. The NCA also confirmed the arrest of a fourth man, aged 36, in Rainham, east London. Jules Harriman, an operations manager for the NCA, stated: “This amount of cocaine will represent a significant loss for the organised crime group that attempted to import it into the UK. “With our partners at Border Force and the Joint Maritime Security Centre (JMSC), we have successfully removed this harmful drug consignment from the criminal marketplace.”Our investigation into this importation continues.” Danny Hewitt, director of Border Force National Operational HQ, described the event as a “significant seizure,” adding that Border Force and the NCA are collaborating “to stop these toxic drugs from hitting our streets in the first place.” He further commented: “We continue to work tirelessly to protect our borders and keep the public safe.” Post navigation Police Initiate Search for Diver Missing in Orkney Waters Proposed Speed Limit Reduction on Scottish Borders Motorbike Routes Receives Support
