A former officer of the Metropolitan Police has entered a not guilty plea to eight sex offence charges involving a woman and a girl. David Carrick, who resides in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, is accused of two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault, and one count of coercive and controlling behaviour against a woman. These alleged incidents occurred in Stevenage between 2014 and 2019. The 49-year-old also faces five counts of indecent assault against a girl under 16, pertaining to events in Salisbury, Wiltshire, between 1989 and 1990, a period when he was a teenager. During an appearance at the Old Bailey in London, conducted remotely via video link, the individual, identified as a former firearms officer, formally denied all accusations. His trial date has been scheduled for 3 November 2025. Mr. Carrick had previously attended Westminster Magistrates’ Court, also by video link, where his only statements were to verify his name and age, and no pleas were submitted at that time. His prior service within the Metropolitan Police included a role with the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command. The proceedings for his trial are slated to occur at the Old Bailey, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for 14 March 2025.
