A former head teacher has received a 16-month prison sentence after being found in possession of over 1,000 indecent images of children. Timothy Moule, from Telford, admitted guilt to four counts of making indecent images of children and one count of breaching a sexual harm prevention order. The 53-year-old, who previously served as a head teacher at educational institutions in Wolverhampton and Shropshire, was apprehended at his residence in September. This arrest followed reports to officers that he was distributing indecent images of children on the social media platform X, according to the West Mercia force. His sentencing took place at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 31 October. During his arrest, Moule denied possessing any digital devices beyond the two already identified by police, the force stated. The force further added that after officers informed him of their intent to search his home, he subsequently handed over two tablets containing the illicit images. The court was informed that Moule’s tablets held 141 category A images – classified as the most severe – along with 149 category B images, 789 category C images, and 21 prohibited pictures. “Moule is a dangerous individual whose obsession with young children poses a threat to society,” said DC Rob Manders from West Mercia Police. Moule had previously been imprisoned for comparable offenses in 2018. Investigations conducted at that time revealed he had secretly filmed boys getting changed and downloaded child abuse images. He received a 52-month sentence over charges of voyeurism and making indecent images. Over 3,500 indecent images were discovered on his devices during that period.
