An ex-Anglican cleric has admitted culpability for charges of rape and gross indecency involving a male under the age of 14. Ifor Whittaker, aged 80, served as a vicar under the alias Father Colin Pritchard at St John the Baptist Church in Sedlescombe, East Sussex, at the time these crimes were perpetrated. According to Sussex Police, the incidents were reported to have occurred in the latter part of the 1990s. Whittaker entered a guilty plea to the accusations at Hove Crown Court and has since been held in custody. His sentencing is scheduled for 12 November.
