Artists at a Manchester studio were astonished by an unexpected visit from the globally renowned footballer Eric Cantona. The Manchester United icon, who also has a passion for music and art, spent time with local artists during his visit to GRIT Studios in the city. Francis Thorrington, a fervent United supporter and one of the artists, expressed that he “couldn’t stop smiling the whole time” after Cantona praised his work as “wonderful.” Last year, Cantona assisted in curating an exhibition at Manchester’s National Football Museum, which explored sporting heroes and their societal influence. The footballer traveled from Paris to meet artist Michael Browne, with whom he collaborated on the previous exhibition, “From Moss Side to Marseille.” The duo is planning another joint project, though its details remain highly confidential. Cantona demonstrated his musical prowess by playing a handmade wooden guitar crafted by Chris Polin. John Macaulay, co-founder of GRIT Studios, remarked, “It’s full circle for me having watched Eric play all over the world.” He further stated, “It’s a true honour that he’s flown in to see our talented artists.” Cantona’s concluding remark during the visit was that it was refreshing to see a place where “art was for everyone, not just the elite.” Post navigation Penny Lancaster Alleges Gregg Wallace Caused Intimidation and Distress on Set Angelina Jolie Reveals Sons Witnessed Her Vulnerability While Filming ‘Maria’
