Manchester United defeated Tottenham to secure the Women’s FA Cup in May. The Football Association (FA) has issued an apology following technical problems that interrupted the live stream of the Women’s FA Cup third-round draw. The draw was being broadcast live on Instagram on Monday morning when the stream unexpectedly froze during the southern section’s proceedings. Spectators were unable to learn the results of the draw until approximately 30 minutes later when they were posted, along with an apology, on the Women’s FA Cup’s official social media platforms. The FA stated that the internet connection had undergone multiple tests prior to the draw and confirmed that the complete video would be uploaded to the competition’s social media channels. This round marks the entry of the 11 teams from the Women’s Championship into the tournament. Notable matchups from the draw include Championship leaders Birmingham playing host to second-placed Durham. The 12 clubs from the Women’s Super League are scheduled to join the competition in the fourth round.
