A holiday park that experienced two floods this year reported ongoing work totaling £700,000 at its location. Billing Aquadrome, situated in Northampton, stated that this work includes dredging the lakes and rivers within the park’s vicinity. The site experienced flooding incidents in September and January of the current year, necessitating the evacuation of its residents. Through a social media announcement, the park indicated its collaboration with West Northamptonshire Council and the Environment Agency “to manage the water flow around the park and clearing all areas on and off park to give us the best possible position [on flooding]”. A representative also mentioned existing plans for the adjacent Cogenhoe Mill park, but noted they were “just waiting to hear on what we are permitted to do”. Earlier this year, Meadow Bay Villages acquired both holiday parks, which had previously entered administration in 2023. The park ceased operations for holiday stays earlier this month, with a scheduled reopening in April 2025. However, it continues to welcome day visitors and accommodate its on-site residents.
